“You can’t go wrong mixing classic graphics in black and white.
It’s very Parisienne. “
-Brad Goreski
I don’t lead my life in black and white, but it wouldn’t be so bad after all to do so. When I saw the first few glimpses of H&M’s Studio Spring Summer’17 collection, I knew there was a connect and we had to create something truly magical.
The press note read :
Simplicity, love and passion for women at H&M Studio
The grace and romance of ballet and the passions of sport create a message of love at H&M Studio.
Femininity, volume and traditional techniques are mixed with the functionality and high-tech details of
sportswear to create a fresh and modern clash. Imagine the ballet dancer backstage, matching her
traditional costume with sportswear pieces to build a wardrobe of contrasts, bridging the resonance of
history with the simplicity of modern lines.
Given the opportunity to see the collection before it hits the runway – I picked out pieces which spoke to me. The fluidity of the garments, and their elegance is based on the amalgamation of the two inspirations for this collection – ballet and sport.
I believe to be the girl who finds a balance between two extremes – normcore but with an edge – a little gram of drama.
Me and Nayantara decided to create something never like before – an uncharted territory for us to amalgamate grace but with a dose of fun, discovering a few fragments of the ballerina in me, with grams of…
a gram of grace…
a gram of confidence…
a gram of hope…
a gram of calm…
a gram of belief…
a gram of trust…
The beauty of this collection lies in its innate quality of being self-sufficient, each piece has its own strengths, and when put together, they create something absolutely spectacular.
With this Studio S/S’17 collection, H&M debuts ‘see now buy now’. Closing the gap between the retail calendar and runway calendar, H&M brings customers a collection straight off the runway. The H&M studio collection will be presented to fashion fans at Paris Fashion Week in the brand’s first-ever ‘see now buy now’ show on March 1 and available to customers immediately after from March 2.
